Description

Free tour of Mdina and Rabat, traditional Malta. This tour is perfect for you to discover the most authentic Malta, full of history, traditions, and surprises, in the only free tour that allows you to explore the wonderful medieval city of Mdina and the traditional village of Rabat. Mdina is a dreamlike city, preserved as if time had stopped forever in its streets and palaces. In fact, numerous blockbuster movies and TV shows (you might recognize them) have been filmed here to represent past times and fantastical worlds. That's why we will start by talking about the history of Malta and the city, as well as the lives of its inhabitants (who were they? what did they do?) during the medieval era, and the secrets and details hidden in its streets. We will also visit the most important places, including internationally renowned filming locations such as "Game of Thrones," "Gladiator," or "Agora." We will stroll through its winding alleyways, admire its squares, and peek over its walls, which offer some of the best views of our islands. The city is very small, so we will practically explore every corner on foot. After this visit to the once most important city in the archipelago, we will continue to the village that grew around it, Rabat, which still remains a bustling example of Maltese rural life and the charm of its traditional settlements. Streets full of character and history will help us discover a Malta that (fortunately) resists disappearing. We will walk through Rabat and talk about our Malta: its desserts, its inhabitants, its traditions, and, above all, its most beautiful spots. With this tour, we want you to get to know our history in an enjoyable way, our present in a sweet way, and what makes this island so unique. To wrap up, we will provide you with recommendations on where to eat, which museums to visit, which catacombs might interest you, where the nearby air-raid shelter is located, or any other questions you may have, so that you don't miss anything worth visiting in this area and its surroundings.
